Work on a security-critical AWS service, owning components end to end from design through to running
them in production at scale. Build long-term working relationships with our customers, serving as a trusted
technical point of contact and engaging directly with them to understand and resolve their requirements.
Spend much of my time on the problems that cut across boundaries: weighing design trade-offs with partner
teams, reviewing the security and correctness of changes, and tracing production issues through services
and infrastructure to their root cause. Also build internal tooling that makes the service safer and easier
for the team to operate.

April 2022 - February 2024
Led feature development across multiple squads, designing solutions to complex problems spanning many
parts of the business. Built an automated Salesforce integration that streamlined financial data recording
for the finance, data and sales teams, significantly reducing the time and pain involved in financial
reporting and auditing. Designed and implemented a critical permission system that gave customers greater
flexibility and enabled the pursuit of larger enterprise clients and sensitive features requiring additional
security. Led the integration of a new third-party provider, diversifying our provider portfolio and reducing
the business's exposure to third-party outages. Pioneered a reusable Kubernetes manifest validation system,
applied across the CD pipeline for every service, giving the platform team confidence during upgrades.
Developed a testing and instrumentation framework that delivered consistent, rich metrics across all
services, making it fast to build effective dashboards and diagnose problems.

Developed new tools and improved existing tools to increase the efficiency of data engineers and the data
processing workflow. Created systems for automating the data transformation processes to cut down on
human input to allow for far greater throughput. Modernised and automated deployment processes with
version controlled, easily audited, code based systems to create easy, reproducible and stress free deployments.

Developed new features with input from customers/stakeholders to increase doctor efficiency and clinical
safety. Administrated systems running our SaaS, providing secure, highly available and redundant services to
many NHS trusts across the country. This includes server maintenance, secure backups of sensitive data,
maintaining fallback systems and disaster recovery. Planned and data modelled many large projects ensuring
that new features were maintainable and efficient. Kept in constant communication with customers via
support channels to make sure their issues were resolved in a timely fashion.
July 2015 - September 2015
Created machine learning solutions for detecting faults in automated factories from CCTV images using
TensorFlow and Keras. Created software to speed up time-consuming image processing jobs required to
create the large amounts of training data necessary to train AI models.
